Botaneco Specialty Ingredients, Calgary, Canada, recently introduced Hydresia Dulcé, an Ecocert-approved, natural emulsion base isolated from sweet almonds. it joins Hydresia (safflower) and Hydresia G2 (safflower and glycerine) in this range of natural emulsifiers. All three materials allow personal care, OTC and topical pharmaceutical formulators to develop products using cold-processing, which reduces formulation, processing time and production costs. According to Botaneco, oleosomes are nature’s storage facility for the emollient oils, antioxidants and natural moisture barriers that serve to keep the skin soft, supple and young looking. They are natural, renewable replacements for hydrocarbon-derived petrolatum mineral oil and nonionic surfactants.
